Ever since I was a child I felt a deep “connection” with stone and the tradition of stone sculpturing and carving runs in my family. I graduated from Art Academy of Latvia gaining there a wide spectrum of knowledge in arts design, working with different materials (stone, wood, metal) etc. This is the knowledge I am using today in my works as well as my 20 year practical experience.
At the moment I mainly work with boulder (natural Latvian stone) creating contemporary home and garden art design – figural sculptures, decors, vases, lamps, lighting appliances, candle holders etc. Each and every piece of art is completely different and special – it depends of specificity of the stone and it’s “character”.
